It is no surprise that I want to talk about Olivia Rodrigo this week. So many people love her and her music due to her authenticity and relatable songs. Olivia rose to popularity following her single release of "Driver's License" in 2021. This song is about her reminiscing about a past lover and how she misses him when she drives by his house. Her genius song, on the first week of being released, rose to number one on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon music. Billboard reported that in the first three days of its release in the United States, it received 21 million streams and 16k digital downloads. This song was just the beginning for Olivia, popular songs like " Deja Vu", and "Good For U" were seen all over Tik Tok and other social media platforms. Her music is heavily influenced by pop-punk and she also adopted the Y2K aesthetic with bright colors and lip gloss seen in her "Good For U" music video (chartmetric).

 

Olivia Rodrigo's Style

Olivia Rodrigo is seen in many paparazzi photos wearing unique, trendy outfits. This photo captures Olivia at the Met Gala after party in 2022. Her dress is a one-of-a-kind and not available to purchase. I found a one-piece outfit that is very similar but also has a high price tag. Le Superbe has the Lolita Romper for $425.00 (cosmopolitan & inflownetwork).

An even cheaper option could be from Generation Love. This dress is only $129.37 which is a lot cheaper than some of the other options.

In August 2022, while in New York, Olivia was seen wearing this outfit (saksfifthavenue). 

This outfit is trendy, and gives off that early 2000 aesthetic. Her shoes are drmartens Jadon Boots, $210.00, a tartan skirt from TRIPPNYC, $43.00, and a baby-tee from UNIF (teenvogue).

 

This outfit is a lot more affordable than the first outfit I talked about. Many fans of Olivia can easily obtain these clothing pieces. Unfortunately, this $45.00 top from UNIF  is completely sold out, probably due to Olivia's influence, so I found an alternative to this shirt. It it a bit different in style, but has the same overall aesthetic. Most of the items on the UNIF website are sold out, so you will have to keep an eye out. Garage

To Conclude

Olivia Rodrigo will continue her success not only with her music, but also by inspiring her fans with her trendy aesthetics and fashion sense. It seems like her outfits reflect her music and help her create an original image. I am excited to see what she will be seen wearing next.
